Mr. Smith joined Smith, Murdaugh, Little & Bonham, L.L.P. in 1995. His practice involves the creation and representation of municipal utility districts and similar political subdivisions as general counsel and bond counsel. Mr. Smith also represents emergency services organizations such as emergency services districts and fire departments. Mr. Smith has represented developers of affordable housing and non-profit corporations. His administrative law practice includes representation of clients before the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the Texas Water Development Board, and the State Office of Administrative Hearings.

Mr. Smith was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 1995. In addition to the Texas State Bar, he is a member of the Houston Bar Association, the Association of Water Board Directors, and the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
Education:
Mr. Smith received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law, magna cum laude, in 1995. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1988 from Texas A&M University.
Community service and interests:
Mr. Smith has served on the Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurses Association of Brazoria County and the VNA of the Texas Gulf Coast. His interests include scuba diving, offshore fishing, and running. Mr. Smith and his wife Amy have one son.
